Azerbaijan keen to produce export-oriented textile products

The production of competitive and export-oriented textile products in Azerbaijan, especially the expansion of high-value-added product manufacturing in this sector, is one of the main targets, according to Samad Bashirli, Azerbaijani Deputy Economy Minister, Report informs, citing the ministry.

He made the announcement during a meeting with representatives of the Azerbaijan Textile Producers and Exporters Association.

Bashirli highlighted that this is crucial both for increasing domestic production potential and expanding export opportunities: "He highlighted the measures being implemented in the country for industrial development, including the application of more sustainable and flexible industrial production models."

Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), in turn, emphasized that new textile enterprises are being built in the country with the participation of foreign partners, and work on the development of cotton clusters continues.

It was noted that in the coming periods, increasing support measures covering the textile industry and ensuring participation in new industry exhibitions with a unified country stand are being considered.

Farida Akhundova, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Textile Producers and Exporters Association, along with members of the association, spoke about the organization's activities, entrepreneurs' proposals regarding exports, and future development prospects of the textile industry.
