Azerbaijan, Iraq discuss expanding co-op in infrastructure projects

The potential for Azerbaijani companies to increase their participation in infrastructure projects in Iraq was recently discussed during a meeting between Mikayil Jabbarov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy, and Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairy, Iraq's Minister of Trade, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry.

The meeting highlighted the upward trajectory of relations between Iraq and Azerbaijan, noting the favorable conditions for expanding bilateral economic and trade cooperation across various sectors.

It was mentioned that Iraqi companies are already engaged in business activities in Azerbaijan across different fields. In turn, Azerbaijani companies have the opportunity to expand their involvement in Iraq's infrastructure projects.

Moreover, there are significant prospects for developing ties in trade, industry, energy, transportation, private sector, tourism, and other areas.

At the same time, the parties assessed the potential for promoting economic and trade relations, mutual investments, and cooperation.

The meeting emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between business entities, increasing trade turnover, and supporting joint activities in the implementation of infrastructure projects.
