Azerbaijan increases polyethylene purchases from South Korea

In January-February 2025, Azerbaijan exported 14,222 tons (2% less YoY) of polyethylene worth $16.6 million (11% more YoY), Report informs, citing the country's State Statistics Committee.

Azerbaijan sold 11,869 tons (+32%) of polyethylene to Russia for $14.1 million (44% more YoY), 1,281 tons (-47%) to Ukraine for $1.3 million (-40%), 781 tons (-34%) to Belarus for $866,000 (-25%), 123 tons (-38%) to Kazakhstan for $138,000 (-31%), 113 tons (+26%) to Georgia for $114,000 (+36%).

During the two-month period, Azerbaijan imported 8,629 tons (+13%) of polyethylene worth $10.7 million (+19%).

Azerbaijan purchased 2,831 tons (-12%) of polyethylene from Iran for $3 million (-12%), 2,760 tons (+38%) from Saudi Arabia for $2.8 million (+29%), 1,598 tons (+65%) from Russia for $1.9 million (+95%), 616 tons (+4.3 times) from South Korea for $1.65 million (+4 times), and 328 tons (-52%) from the United States for $532,000 (-51%) .

In 2024, 50.4% of the 49,400 tons of polyethylene imported to Azerbaijan came from Iran.
