In the first two months of 2022, some 4.178 million live chicks (weighing no more than 185 grams each) were imported to Azerbaijan for a total of $1.561 million, Report informs referring to the State Statistics Committee.
This is 2.4 times more in value terms and 4.5 times more than the quantitative indicator for the same period last year.
During the reporting period, 3.503 million chicks for $940,780 were purchased from Turkiye, 614,500 chicks for $308,600 from Georgia, 60,840 chicks for $311,380 from Russia.
Compared to the same period last year, imports from Turkiye increased 4.1 times and 3.8 times, respectively, from Russia - by 34.6% and 36.8%. In January-February last year, there were no deliveries from Georgia.
Some 85.2% of 13.083 million chicks imported into Azerbaijan in 2021 come from Turkiye.
