In January-April 2021, Azerbaijan imported 23,854 cars worth $ 245 million (22% and 38.7% more, respectively, compared to the same period last year), Report informs, referring to State Customs Committee.
According to the Committee, the number of cars with a seating capacity of ten or more seats dropped 36.2% to 44 ($ 4.515 million), and passenger cars and other motor vehicles fell by 1.4% to 21,948 ($ 209.176 million).
Of these, 2,805 ($ 16.504 million) are electric-powered vehicles with internal combustion engines, and 24 ($ 948,000) are electric-powered vehicles only.
It means an increase of 69.6% in the first, and an increase of 5 or 26.3% in the second.
Meanwhile, vehicles for cargo transportation grew by 73.7% to 1,820 ($ 25.166 million ), and special vehicles dropped by 28.8% to 42 ($ 5,721 million).
