Azerbaijan eyes opening land borders next week - EXCLUSIVE

Azerbaijan may open its land borders from June 15, Report informs, State Customs Committee (SCC) told Report.

The Committee has already reached a preliminary agreement with the relevant agencies of neighboring countries on the opening of customs checkpoints. In this regard, the management instructed the Territorial Main Customs Departments and began preparations for the commissioning of checkpoints next week.

"The rules for checking passengers and cargo are currently being determined. Passengers entering the customs checkpoint by bus will be banned from getting out of the vehicle. They will also be checked in the same vehicle. However, passengers crossing on foot and individually will leave the checkpoint under special control. Currently, we are waiting for the decision of the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers, and if there are no changes, we will open the borders on June 15," the Committee said.
