Azerbaijan discovers nearly $100,000 in undeclared cash at checkpoint

Customs officers from the Tovuz Customs Department of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee (SCC) have prevented an attempt to smuggle foreign currency across Azerbaijan’s customs border without declaration, Report informs, citing SCC.

The inspection was carried out at the Red Bridge customs checkpoint by the Tovuz Customs Department.

During the inspection of a cargo vehicle and its driver, officials discovered $94,270 in undeclared currency concealed from customs control.

An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
