Azerbaijan begins exporting caviar to Saudi Arabia

Azerbaijan exported 0.10 tons of black roe (sturgeon roe) worth $103,000 in January-February of 2024, Report informs, citing State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.

The obtained data shows that this is a sixfold increase in value and ninefold increase in volume compared to the same period of the previous year.

Over the course of two months, Azerbaijan exported 0.05 tons (+5 times) of caviar to the United States worth $42,250 (+7 times), 0.03 tons to the UAE worth $33.710 (no supply a year ago), 0.01 tons to an undesignated country (bought from Duty Free Trade Shop) worth $18.140 (+64%), and 0.01 ton to Saudi Arabia worth $8,680.

This year Azerbaijan has shipped black roe to Saudi Arabia for the first time since 2011 (the year until which official foreign trade statistics are accessible).
