Airbnb predicts "never-before-seen boom" in booking

Online rental platform Airbnb predicts an unprecedented summer booking boom, Report informs, referring to Euronews.

The company reported for the first quarter and has already shown significant revenue growth. In the first three months of this year, the number of bookings in the United States grew by 52%, exceeding even the pre-coronavirus figures. In Europe, for example the UK and France, the numbers are not so significant, but still, the company management speaks of a "stable improvement" of the situation. Overall, however, Airbnb suffered a $59 million loss due to previously canceled tours.

Countries around the world are gradually lifting travel restrictions, hoping for the positive impact of mass vaccinations. Airbnb says that now, travelers still prefer accommodation away from city centers and large crowds. However, the company cannot predict how this year will end.
