Statue of Ramses II found in Egypt - VIDEO

Baku. 10 March. REPORT.AZ/ Two statues allegedly of 1292-1190 B.C.E. were revealed during archaeological excavations in Ain Al Shams region, ancient Heliopolis city in Cairo.

Report informs citing Anadolu, Antiquities Minister Mahmoud Afifi said.

According to him, the statue carved out of quartzite is 8 meters long.

The information declares that the statue dates back to the ruling 19th dynasty in Egypt.

Scientists believe that this is the statue of pharaoh Ramses II, ruling 3 000 years ago.

The report says, archaeological works are being conducting by scientific expedition of scientists from Germany and Egypt.
