Inauguration of First Latin American Film Festival starts in Baku today

Baku. 16 April. REPORT.AZ/ Today kicks off the First Festival of Latin American Film Festival, organized by the Diplomatic Representations based in Azerbaijan of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Peru and Mexico with the main objective of promoting the culture and traditions of Latin America.

Report informs, in its first edition, Latin American Film Festival aims to disseminate the artistic values and reaffirm the identity and cultural diversity that characterizes Latin America, using as the main tool, cinematography.

With the valuable collaboration of the University of Languages of Azerbaijan, the Landmark Hotel and Park Cinema Flame Towers, the Festival will exhibit seven films, through which the Azerbaijani public will be able to get closer and learn more about the culture, modes of life and traditions of each of the participating countries.

The Opening Ceremony will feature the screening of the Colombian film “Land and Shade” at 18:30 at Park Cinema Flame Towers.

As part of the Festival the following films will be exhibited:

“La tierra y la sombra” (Colombia) – Monday, April 16 at 18:30, Park Cinema FlameTowers.

“El regreso” (Costa Rica) – Tuesday, April 17 at 14:00, University of Languages of Azerbaijan.

“Conducta” (Cuba) – Wednesday, April 18 at 14:00, University of Languages of Azerbaijan.

“Viejos amigos” (Peru) – Thursday, April 19 at 16:30, University of Languages of Azerbaijan.

The films will be screened in Spanish and Portuguese language with English subtitles. The entrance to the films is free.
