Head project coordinator: Baku Autumn Contest will bestow new stars to Azerbaijani music after 35 years

The Baku Autumn 2023 Contest will bestow new stars to Azerbaijani music after 35 years, the head project coordinator, Fidan Mir-Gadirova, told Report.

According to her, the exercises are over: “The contest has already started. In total, the project covers 5 genres.”

On Wednesday, the first round of the Baku Autumn talent contest is being held at the Opera Studio of the Baku Music Academy. In this round, 13 musical bands compete with compositions of national songs. Talented vocal performers do their best in front of the jury with colorful musical numbers showing great interest and enthusiasm for the competition. Music bands will perform in the Azerbaijani language in the first round, and a foreign language in the second round. After these rounds, the winners will be determined during the summer months and their names will be announced at the Baku Autumn concert on October 2.

The jury consists of People's Artist Aygun Kazimova, accordion player, People's Artist Anvar Sadigov, People's Artist Zulfiyya Khanbabayeva, People's Artist Mubariz Taghiyev, singer Ilgar Khayal, Maryam Babayeva, head of the Department of Estrada and Popular Music of the Faculty of Music at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, Honored Artist Emil Afrasiyab.

The event will continue until July 1.
