Baku hosts Run for Art international photo exhibition

The opening ceremony of the exhibition of the finalists of the international photo contest "Run for Art" took place on April 6 at the International Mugam Center, Report informs.

The event was attended by Vice President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) Chingiz Huseynzade, Secretary-General Azer Aliyev, Minister of Culture Anar Karimov, Vice President of the Italian NOC, member of the Board of the Giulio Onesti Foundation, former Olympic champion in skiing Claudia Cordani.

The competition is intended for amateur and professional photographers aged 18-35, who can participate from any country in the world. Each contest offers a different theme for five different aspects: the number of categories symbolically represents the 5 Olympic rings. Topics such as ethics, diversity, and inclusion in sports are explored with the help of universal tools such as sports and photography.

Each of the five categories included in the final stage of the competition, in total, eight finalists will be selected, as in the sports competition for 40 photos. The photos are chosen by an international jury representing the arts, sports, and the media. Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee Azer Aliyev is a member of the jury of the Run for Art international photo contest.

In the international photo competition Run for Art, Tetsu Chi-Chingli (Taiwan) in the baseball and softball category, Gokhan Taner (Turkiye) in the karate category, Max Dunlap (USA) in the skateboarding category, Julia Kasu (France) in the rock climbing category, Reese Bates (Australia) in the category of surfing won first place. Nariman Babayev (Azerbaijan) occupied third place in the photo "Play performed by young karatekas at the competition's opening." Amateur photographer Bayram Musayev (Azerbaijan) is one of the finalists in the skateboarding category.

Gokhan Taner, Julia Kasu, Nariman Babayev, and Bayram Musayev, who attended the opening ceremony, were awarded.

The event continued with an artistic part.

The international photo exhibition Run for Art will last until April 16.

The international competition, organized by the National Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Culture, and the Giulio Onesti Foundation of the Italian National Olympic Academy, was developed by the Giulio Onesti Foundation for young photographers. The purpose of the competition is to combine art and sports.
