Baku hosts exhibition called 'Travel to Belgium with comics'

A display called "Travel to Belgium with comics" was opened in Baku, Report informs.

The exhibition is jointly organized by the National Art Museum and the Embassy of Belgium in Azerbaijan.

"The exhibition is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Belgium. We hope and believe that we will be able to further strengthen our cooperation through art," Ambassador of Belgium to Azerbaijan Michel Peetermans said at the opening ceremony.

Comics are considered the "9th art". The trend-setting position in this genre belongs to Belgium. Brussels has museums dedicated to comics, many boutiques, and shops where you can buy comics.

Thanks to the works of illustrators Olivier Schrauwen, Jean-Claude Servais, Brecht Evens, and Didier Comes, the exhibition participants will get to know the cities and sights of Belgium, as well as the cultural traditions of the country.
