Baku. 10 September. REPORT.AZ/ The Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater will open its new theater season on September 19 with the opera "Leyli and Majnun" by genius composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli, the theater told Report.
The opera will be staged within the Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival to be held for the 10th time.
The casts are Elnur Zeynalov (Majnun), young mugham singer Ravana Amiraslanli (Leyli), honoured artists Jahangir Gurbanov (Nofsal), Tayyar Bayramov (Ibn Salam) and etc. The band master is Sevil Hajiyeva.
Within the festival, Astor Piazzolla`s "Tango of Love" ballet will be staged on September 22, "Shah Ismayil" mugham opera by Muslim Magomayev on September 23, "Leyli and Majnun", "Don Quixote" ballets on September 26.
On September 29, Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s operetta play ‘Arshin mal alan’ will be staged in honor of opera singer, USSR People’s Artist Firangiz Ahmadova.
The opera "Il Tabarro" by Puccini will be presented to the audience on September 30.
