Private veterinary services will be introduced in Azerbaijan today, said Mirza Aliyev, chairman of the Agro Services Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture.
He noted that private veterinary services are used all over the world. "This is one of the most effective ways to fight animal diseases. Our goal is to eliminate animal diseases. By introducing this system, we want to increase interest in veterinary as a specialty. In recent years, interest in this field has decreased, and now that it is a private sector, veterinarians will act individually."
According to Aliyev, private veterinary activity will start on September 1: "We will apply it in Sheki, Zagatala, and Gakh, and from November 1, throughout the country. At the same time, the solution of state-funded diseases will again be financed from the state budget."
The chairman of the Agency added that they were trained before transferring to the private veterinary service:
"They will already become taxpayers, for which they have been trained in financial literacy. They were also provided with all the necessary tools and refrigerators. He stresses that 33.5 million animals are vaccinated a year. The vaccine injected into each animal will be entered into an electronic system."
