The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), the agriculture faculty of the Ankara University and the Agrarian Science and Innovation Center under the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry have launched a project, entitled "Surface reflection and vegetation detection indicators for multi-purpose analysis of drone-based multispectral images," Report informs, citing foreign media.
Three specialists from Azerbaijan were filled in on the use of drones in agriculture within the project. In addition, theoretical and applied training courses and experience exchange programs have been organized at the faculty of agriculture of Ankara University.
The project includes the donation of one multispectral drone, one pesticide spraying drone, mapping and analysis software to Azerbaijan.
Thanks to the project, the coefficient of surface reflection, vegetation indicators, diseases, water and fertilizer needs of plants will be determined, and a multi-purpose analysis of multispectral images will be carried out.
The drones will also be used in pesticide application and education activities.
