Sonia Paiva highlights neglect of women’s role in Azerbaijan’s agriculture

Sonia Paiva, Founder and Executive Director Woman Farmer Foundation, pointed out the insufficient attention given to women’s involvement in Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector, Report informs.

Speaking on the third day of Baku Climate Action Week, Paiva stressed the importance of addressing key issues like job creation, climate change, and water resources, which are all closely tied to agriculture.

“The focus should be on women, particularly young women, and the need for them to develop specialized skills,” Paiva remarked. “Currently, women’s participation in agriculture in Azerbaijan is largely overlooked. We must establish platforms that highlight the advantages of the green skills ecosystem. Tackling these issues is crucial,” she concluded.
