Rostselmash to test harvester production in Azerbaijan

Russia's Rostselmash is discussing with its Azerbaijani partners the possibility of establishing a joint production of combine harvesters in the country, Report mentions, referring to Interfax.

According to Igor Sorokin, deputy governor of Russia's Rostov region, in 2021, Azerbaijan will test joint combines. Production capacity is expected to be 100 combines a year.

In 2019, Rostselmash CEO Valery Maltsev announced plans to open an assembly plant in Azerbaijan. It was planned to start the project in 2020, and to produce 40-50 harvesters in the first stage.

In November 2019, at the Russian-Azerbaijani forum, Rostselmash and Azermash signed an agreement of intent to establish a combined assembly plant in Azerbaijan. The document envisages the assembly of Nova model harvesters.
