Ministry of Agriculture: Kalbajar honey can be exported at high prices

The honey racking process in Kalbajar is nearing completion, chief of the public relations and information department at Azerbaijan's Ministry of Agriculture Vugar Huseynov said.

Report informs that, according to Huseynov, the production exceeded expectations.

"The beekeepers who aimed to collect 30 kg of honey from each hive could collect 45-50 kg of honey," he said.

Head of the beekeeping farm in the Zulfugarli village of Kalbajar, Vahid Mammadov, said the Kalbajar honey is unique for its dust content.

"Therefore it is necessary to brand it. In this case, we will be able to export it from Kalbajar and Lachin at high prices. It will benefit both the state and the beekeeper. If the hives are moved to the high mountains in late April, the quality of the honey will grow 3-4 times," he said.
