Kazakhstan builds $68M oilseed processing plant

Construction of a new oil extraction plant has been completed in the North Kazakhstan region. The plant will process 370,000 tons of sunflower or flax seeds per year, according to the country's Ministry of Agriculture, Report informs via Kazakh media.

The plant's products will include sunflower and flaxseed oil, as well as meal. Cold pressing technology will be used in production to increase competitiveness in foreign markets. The enterprise is equipped with modern equipment manufactured in Germany, Belgium, and Türkiye.

Currently, the construction of extraction, seed preparation and reception facilities, as well as pumping and boiler facilities, has been completed.

Equipment commissioning work is underway. Production launch is planned for the end of November this year. The project cost is 34 billion tenge ($68 million).
