The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is implementing a project to improve the knowledge and skills of farmers who have moved to the village of Agali in the Zangilan district, Report informs, citing FAO's Assistant Representative in Azerbaijan Bariz Mehdiyev.
"The project has already been approved and submitted to the government, and its implementation is expected to begin in the near future. The two-year project will be implemented within the framework of the FAO Technical Assistance Program jointly with the Agricultural Services Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan. The project will cover about 300 farmers. Over the past 30 years, the technologies used in agriculture have developed significatly. The project provides for the demonstration and implementation of pilot irrigation systems," Mehdiyev said.
