Azerbaijan is committed to cooperation with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization in agricultural development, FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu said at an international conference on digitalization of agriculture in Baku, Report informs.
Qu Dongyu also thanked Azerbaijan for its commitment to the digitalization of agriculture and noted the importance of interaction in those areas that are on the agenda of cooperation with Azerbaijan, including the development of such areas of agriculture as livestock and others, the digitalization of all these industries.
The FAO director-general noted the importance of holding this conference, considering all the crises taking place in the world, including pandemics that affect the global economy.
According to him, digitalization is an important direction in terms of agricultural development. In this case, FAO also plays an important role. The roadmap presented by the UN Secretary-General outlined all the main directions for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including in the development of this sector.
