EU envoy: "We apply good agricultural practices in Azerbaijan"

"Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the world has been experiencing problems with wheat, vegetable oil and fertilizer deficiencies since the beginning of the year," said Peter Michalko, Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Azerbaijan, speaking at the first Plant Health Forum in Baku.

He noted that agriculture and food security are important for the European Union:

"The pandemic has shown that the fight against external shocks is possible with a sustainable system. We intend to build sustainable systems with our trading partners and allies. Azerbaijan is a good example in this regard. We apply good agricultural practices here," he said.

Michalko said he supported Azerbaijan's exports of agricultural products to the European Union and hoped that the volume would increase in the future.
