Envoy: Poland ready to share its experience in agriculture with Azerbaijan

Poland intends to boost cooperation in the field of agriculture with Azerbaijan, Polish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Rafal Poborski told Report.

“The Polish Embassy is interested in cooperation with the regions of Azerbaijan. We are trying to implement our projects not only in Baku, but also in the regions of Azerbaijan,” the ambassador said.

The ambassador noted that several months ago he visited Lankaran State University, where he discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation, adding that the university is now trying to focus on programs related to agriculture.

“We are already considering ways to help the region in the development of agriculture, because we see great potential here. Poland, in turn, is one of the main exporters of agricultural products to the EU market, so we have something to offer,” the diplomat said.

He added that Poland is ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan in expanding warehouses for storing fruits and vegetables.

“Azerbaijan doesn’t have very high fruit storage capabilities, we can help the country in this. We are also cooperating with the port of Alat, we are trying to develop cooperation within the signed memorandum of understanding between the ports of Gdansk and Alat. Now negotiations are underway on how to organize transportation between the two ports,” said Rafal Poborski.
