Deputy minister: State services for farmers are digitized in Azerbaijan

The production of competitive agricultural products is one of the main factors in the development of the economy of Azerbaijan, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan, Sarvan Jafarov, said at the National Forum within the framework of the "Strengthening of Agricultural Advisory Services" project funded by the European Union and implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan, Report informs.

According to him, innovations in agriculture play an important role because it helps to form new knowledge and experience among farmers.

The deputy minister also added that the government is paying special attention to the digitization of government services for farmers.

"European Union, FAO, World Bank, and other organizations help us implement our projects," he said.

Jafarov pointed out that the number of farmers in the country currently exceeds 600,000.

"We are implementing a project with FAO to strengthen agricultural extension services," Jafarov said.
