As an export-oriented country, Azerbaijan is strengthening its position in the global market with a new and active business policy, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Sarvan Jafarov, said at the 35th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture held in Baku, Report informs.
“Azerbaijani products are competitive in terms of quality, and the country wants to expand trade cooperation with global markets. We prefer the formation of a legal framework to facilitate trade with other countries,” he stressed.
The deputy minister noted that the global economy brings new opportunities and new challenges: “Changing consumer preferences are driving agribusiness to promote innovative systems. This environment also creates new opportunities for the government to engage in agribusiness and agribusiness development. In this regard, the government of Azerbaijan is making great efforts to make this sector very attractive by creating a favorable investment environment. Azerbaijan is one of the leading countries in terms of agricultural support mechanisms. The agricultural sector is exempt from all types of tax deductions. Various subsidy and loan mechanisms are available to support farmers. The country's agricultural subsidy system was designed in a result-oriented manner.”
