Belarusian vice PM: Trade between Belarus, Azerbaijan contributes to food security

Mutual trade between Belarus and Azerbaijan is steadily developing, making a significant contribution to food security of the two countries, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko said as he took part in the opening of the international exhibitions Caspian Agro and Inter Food in Baku, Report informs via BelTA.

“Belarus always takes an active part in the Caspian Agro and Inter Food exhibitions. Today Belarusian companies showcase meat, fish, dairy, confectionery products, alcoholic beverages and other types of food, as well as fertilizers, chemicals for plant treatment, veterinary drugs, a wide range of ready-made agricultural machinery and tire products. Mutual trade in food products between Belarus and Azerbaijan has been steadily developing making a significant contribution to ensuring food security of the two countries,” Igor Petrishenko said.

According to the deputy prime minister, Belarus traditionally supplies Azerbaijan with a wide range of meat, dairy and other products, including as raw materials for the food processing industry.
