Azerbaijan, Turkiye to sign cooperation agreement in agriculture

Azerbaijan and Turkiye will sign an agreement on cooperation in the field of agriculture, said Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahit Kirishchi, Report informs.

The Minister noted that preparations are being made for the signing of agreements on cooperation in the agricultural sector with ten countries. Along with Azerbaijan, these countries include Venezuela, Kazakhstan, Sudan, and Algeria.

According to Vahit Kirishchi, measures are being taken against the possible food crisis.

Products that are difficult to produce in Turkey in terms of climate will be planted on land leased abroad. The Ministry of Agriculture has begun discussing leasing land in several Latin American and African countries:

"Some countries offer us: Azerbaijan, Venezuela, Kazakhstan, Algeria, Sudan. Negotiations are underway."

The Minister added that work has begun to cooperate with these governments.
