Azerbaijan to study EU experience on land consolidation from Latvia

Azerbaijan will consider opportunities for joint cooperation with Latvia to study the experience of the European Union (EU) on land consolidation, Raivis Kronberg, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture of Latvia, told Report.

According to him, a delegation from Latvia visited Azerbaijan in early May and meetings were held at the Ministry of Agriculture.

Kronberg said that cooperation will cover a number of areas such as:

Exchange of experience to improve funding mechanisms of the agrarian sector;

Joint cooperation to study the EU experience on land consolidation;

Cooperation in the field of agrarian research, agrarian education and innovation;

Cooperation in the field of artificial insemination, animal breeding and selection works in animal husbandry;

Exchange of information on the production, certification and marketing of organic farming products.

“In addition, consultation visits by experts of the relevant party, training programs or study visits for employees of the Party or related public bodies, webinars and other online sessions, participation in seminars and conferences in the country of any of the parties are planned within the cooperation,” Kronberg told Report.
