Azerbaijan State Agrarian University starts cooperation with US University

Azerbaijan State Agrarian University (ASAU) and Oklahoma State University have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the Dual Diploma Program at the master's level.

Report informs that before the signing ceremony, the delegation led by Oklahoma Governor John Kevin Stitt, who was visiting Ganja, got acquainted with the ASAU Student House, the new educational building, and laboratories. The guests were informed about the material and technical base of the university, opportunities for quality agricultural education, stimulation programs.

Then, an event dedicated to signing a Memorandum of Cooperation was held in the Student Park of the university. Welcoming the guests, ASAU Rector, Professor Ibrahim Jafarov said that his university has been cooperating closely with Oklahoma State University for a long time. The two universities signed MoU in 2019 and a strategic partnership agreement in 2020. The memorandum inked today will allow university masters to receive diplomas from both universities by studying at ASAU in the first year and at Oklahoma State University in the second year.

Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov recalled that Azerbaijan and the US state of Oklahoma have a tradition of cooperation lasting more than 20 years:

"It is gratifying that from 2019, this cooperation began to cover the agricultural sector. Today, we are attending the signing ceremony of an important document that will strengthen cooperation between Azerbaijan and Oklahoma. The memorandum to be signed will have a positive impact on the development of agricultural education, one of the most important sectors of agriculture. Today, our guests got acquainted with our university and saw how much material and technical and scientific potential there is to develop agrarian education in Azerbaijan. We look forward to the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University students continuing their education in Oklahoma and the students of the Oklahoma State University coming to Ganja to study here."

Speaking at the signing ceremony, John Kevin Stitt expressed satisfaction with the expansion of cooperation with the ASAU:

"A large delegation came with me to Azerbaijan. This confirms how much we attach importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan. The visit was very productive, and I am pleased to participate in the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation. I believe that such collaboration will deepen our relations and make an outstanding contribution to both the Republic of Azerbaijan and the state of Oklahoma."

Moreover, other officials praised the expansion of cooperation between the two universities as an important step and thanked international organizations and government agencies for their work.

Then, a memorandum of cooperation was inked between the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University and Oklahoma State University on the Dual Diploma Program at the master's level. A photo was taken after the signing ceremony, and the Oklahoma Governor and members of the delegation answered students' questions.

The Oklahoma delegation visited the houses destroyed by Armenia's heinous rocket attacks against innocent people and laid flowers in memory of the victims in Ganja. The staff members also got acquainted with the activities of the Republican Artificial Insemination Center in the Goygol region. The guests were informed about the activities of the Center, measures taken for the development of livestock in the country, state support in this area.

The visit of the delegation ends tomorrow.
