Azerbaijan imported 5,339 tons of pepper (+6%) worth $3,754 million (+20.4%) during the first six months of the year, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.
A total of 4,571 tons (+35%) worth $3.199 million (+52%) were brought from Iran, 735.9 tons (-55.4%) worth $516,100 (-49%) from Turkiye, 28.85 tons worth $35,620 from Russia, 3.73 tons (+373 times) worth $2,620 (+262 times) from the Netherlands and 0.01 tons (unchanged) worth $0.05 thousand (unchanged) from Italy.
In 2022, supplies from Russia were made for the first time in the last 11 years (note: publicly available official statistics on foreign trade are up to 2011).
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan sold 74.7 tons of pepper worth $89.65 thousand abroad (as before to Russia), which is 9.4 times and 13 times more than the indicators of the same period last year, respectively.
