In January-October 2022, Azerbaijan exported 39,414 tons of sugar for $27.588 million, down 22% and up 3.1%, respectively, from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
Azerbaijan exported 15,353 tons (+614 times) of sugar to Kazakhstan for $11,531 (+506 times), 11,975 tons (-69%) to Turkmenistan for $7.736 million (-62%), 10,919 tons (+109 times) to Georgia for $7.255 million (+82 times), 619.24 tons (-25%) to Russia for $713,200 (-7%), and 448 tons (-93.4%) to Kyrgyzstan for $277,760 (-92%).
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 277.32 tons (-98.2 times) of sugar worth $305,630 (+8.3 times).
Azerbaijan imported 207.63 tons (-81%) of sugar worth $133,280 (-78%) from Ukraine, 24.23 tons (+90%) worth $43,960 (+2.1 times) from Finland, 11.46 tons (-99.8%) worth $27,000 (-99%) from Russia, 2.25 tons (+72%) worth $19,900 (+2.2 times) from Luxembourg, and 5.52 tons (-99.9%) worth $18,450 (-99.6%) from Turkiye.
Azerbaijan imported the product from Argentina (110 kg worth $280), Malaysia (600 kg worth $2,860), Saudi Arabia (250 kg worth $700), and Singapore (10 kg worth $30) for the first time in 11 years (official statistics on foreign trade in open access since 2011).
