In the first eight months of 2022, Azerbaijan imported 3.39 tons of caviar (sturgeon caviar) worth $1 million, respectively, up 71.2% and 77% from the previous year, Report informs, referring to the State Statistical Committee.
In the reporting period, the country imported 3,35 tons (+70%) of caviar worth $1.032 million (+74.5) from China and 0.03 tons (after one year, the import was restored) worth $23,07 from the US.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 0.22 (+5.5 times) tons of caviar worth $254,870 (+4.6 times).
The country exported 0.07 tons (+7 times) of caviar worth $97,370 (+3.3 times) to the UAE, 0.09 tons (+4.5 times) worth $64,470 (+4 times) to the US, 0.02 tons worth $41,400 to an unspecified country (was bought from a duty-free shop), 0.01 ton worth $16,330 to Singapore, and 0.01 tons (no supplies were made last year) worth $15,74 to Russia.
Azerbaijan exported caviar to Singapore and New Zealand for the first time in 11 years (official statistics on foreign trade in open access since 2011). Azerbaijan supplied 0.01 tons of caviar worth $5,460 to New Zealand.
