In 2022‒2026, Azerbaijan's agriculture is expected to grow by an average of 4% annually, said Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency under the Ministry of Economy, in his speech at the II Agribusiness Forum held in Baku, Report informs.
According to him, ensuring the sustainable development of the agricultural sector is one of the priorities of the government's strategic action agenda, indicating that there is enough development potential to increase productivity: "According to the socio-economic development strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2022─2026, productivity will increase and new jobs will be created with the application of modern technologies in the agrarian sector, industry, and services.
Mammadov stressed that they are interested in achieving continuous transformation of the system built on the farm-to-table principle against the background of diversification of the country's economy: "Green energy, digitization, and a stronger business environment are key targets for building sustainable agriculture."
