Azerbaijan preparing state program on fisheries

The Ministry of Agriculture is preparing a State Program for the development of agricultural, fishery and aquaculture production and processing sectors in Azerbaijan for 2025-2030, according to Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ilhama Gadimova, Report informs.

Gadimova made the remark during a public hearing dedicated to the development of entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector at today's meeting of the Agrarian Policy Committee of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (Parliament).

President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on December 19, 2024, on additional measures for the development of fisheries and aquaculture and on amendments to some of his decrees and orders in this regard.

According to the order, a Fisheries and Aquaculture Center has been established under the Ministry of Agriculture. The center is a public legal entity operating in the field of organization and management of fisheries, including aquaculture, increasing, using, protecting and controlling fish and other aquatic bioresources.
