Azerbaijan named as alternative flour supplier for Georgia

Bread prices in Georgia have risen by 10 tetri ($0.03) and are not expected to rise further until the end of May, Director of the Georgian Bread Bakers Association Malkhaz Dolidze told Report.

Dolidze noted there was no problem in importing flour to Georgia.

"We now have a two-month supply of flour. Therefore, there will be no shortage of bread. Reserves will be gradually increased," he said.

The head of the association added that Georgia might consider Azerbaijan, Armenia and Kazakhstan as alternative flour suppliers instead of Russia.

Russia is Georgia's main supplier of wheat and flour.
