Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan agree on first supply of flour under joint brand

Entrepreneurs from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are planning to organize the first delivery of Kazakh flour to Azerbaijan under a new joint brand in the near future, Report informs referring to the Kazakh Embassy in Baku.

The corresponding agreement was reached during a working meeting of the Kazakh-Azerbaijani Business Council.

The event was attended by Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel, Chairman of the Board of the Agency for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (KOBIA) Orkhan Mammadov, Co-Chairman of the Kazakh-Azerbaijani Business Council Dauren Bimov and the newly appointed Co-Chairman of the Business Council from Azerbaijan Emin Sadig.

The ambassador noted that with the appointment of Co-Chairman from Kazakhstan Dauren Bimov last year, the work of the Business Council received a new impetus. Thus, over the past year, nine business delegations from Kazakhstan visited Azerbaijan under the coordination of the Council. The diplomat expressed confidence that with the appointment of Emin Sadig, the activation of this structure will continue.

The diplomat noted a 20% increase in trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in the first four months of 2025: "Today, mutual trade is at a record high for the entire period of independence."

Bayel paid special attention to the leading role of Kazakhstan in grain supplies to Azerbaijan: "In the total volume of Azerbaijan's imports, the share of Kazakh wheat was a record 88%."

The ambassador emphasized that the leadership of Kazakhstan attaches particular importance to the development of industrial cooperation with Azerbaijan.

Mammadov confirmed his readiness to intensify work on the implementation of joint projects with Kazakhstan. Bimov made a presentation of a number of promising projects in the field of logistics, agro-industrial complex, energy, trade, infrastructure development, restaurant business and digitalization for joint Kazakh-Azerbaijani implementation.

The Azerbaijani side, in turn, presented the results of the analysis of the advantages of Kazakh grain and flour for the local consumer. The high quality of wheat from Kazakhstan was noted, as well as the need to secure the stability of supplies from Azerbaijan.
