Azerbaijan extends validity of customs duties on imported fruits & vegetables

The validity of customs duties on hazelnuts, fresh table grapes, apples, pears, fresh or chilled onions, shallots, cucumbers and gherkins imported into Azerbaijan has been extended from the end of this year until the end of 2023, Report informs.

In this regard, Prime Minister Ali Asadov has signed a decision on amending the “Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity, Import Customs Duty Rates and Export Customs Duty Rates of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” approved by Resolution No. 500 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated November 17, 2017.

Thus, import customs duties will amount to $1.5 per kg of imported hazelnuts, $0.4 per kg of fresh table grapes, $0.3 per kg of apples, $0.3 per kg of pears, $0.6 per kg of shallots, $0.8 per kg of cucumbers, $0.8 per kg of gherkins.

After 2023, an import customs duty of 15% will apply for 1 kg of these products.
