Azerbaijan, EU complete another twinning project

The closing conference on the "Twinning Project to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the state support system for agriculture" implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture (EU) and the European Union (EU) for three years was held.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Ilhama Gadimova said that the work done on the project plays an important role in achieving the outlined priorities and goals.

According to her, it is always a priority for the ministry to continue cooperation with international organizations and apply best practices in Azerbaijan.

Zoltan Szalai, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, spoke about the importance of bilateral relations and stressed the importance of developing cooperation in the agricultural sector.

The ambassadors of the twinning project partners - Italy, Lithuania, and Poland to Azerbaijan spoke about the prospects and plans for cooperation, especially in the field of agriculture.

The Agro Credit and Development Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture was responsible for executing and coordinating the Twinning project. Chairman of the organization Seymur Movlayev informed about the work done together with the EU in the implementation of the project, the measures taken, and future areas of joint cooperation.

The specific objective of the twinning project is to strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of Agriculture to define, program, and administer effective state support to agriculture and for rural development and in line with relevant EU policy principles and best practices.
