Azerbaijan dramatically reduces onion imports from main supply market

From January through March 2022, Azerbaijan imported 76.25 tons of onions for $32,100, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, compared to the same period last year, the onion imports decreased by 126 times in monetary terms, and by 138 times in terms of volume.

In the first three months of 2022, Azerbaijan purchased 65.75 tons of onions worth $26,300 from Russia, and 10.5 tons worth $5,780 from the Netherlands.

Compared to a year earlier, deliveries from Russia decreased by 123 times and 119 times, respectively, and from the Netherlands - by 10.2% and 10.3%.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 151.25 tons (5.6% more than a year ago) of onions worth $107,510 (16% less).
