Agriculture Ministry: This year mainly grain sown in liberated territories

This year, 50,000 hectares of land have been sown with grain crops in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, and a high harvest is expected in these territories, Report informs, quoting the head of the land-use control department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Firudin Tagiyev.

According to him, the liberated territories have great potential. Sowing is carried out in conditions of rainfed agriculture. At the next stage, it is planned to switch to the field irrigation method. This will greatly increase the yield.

An employee of the ministry added that after the liberation of the lands from occupation, the study of the potential of agricultural land in these territories began: "After studying the potential of the lands, it was determined which crops to sow fields in each district."

According to Tagiyev, reservoirs will be built on the Hakari River, which will also ensure higher yields: "After the implementation of all these projects, we will achieve high yields."
