A new state program for 2026–2030 aimed at developing agricultural production and processing, fisheries, and aquaculture in Azerbaijan is designed to increase productivity and value added in the agricultural sector, Zeynal Nagdaliyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Territorial and Organizational Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, said during a meeting held for the Absheron-Khizi and Guba-Khachmaz economic regions.
Report's correspondent in Guba quotes him as saying the main objective of the program is not limited to increasing production indicators, but is focused on raising both the volume and quality of output per hectare.
"This document provides for ensuring sustainable development in agricultural production, strengthening food security, increasing productivity, developing value chains in the agricultural sector, and moving fisheries and aquaculture to a new stage of development.
The program will accelerate the transition from an extensive approach to an intensive development model in the agricultural sector and will contribute to strengthening the country's food security," Nagdaliyev said.
