TARSİM puts forward proposal on compulsory agricultural insurance

For the provision of subsidized loans in the agricultural sector in Azerbaijan, it is very important that agricultural insurance be mandatory, Serpil Gunal, Director-General of the Turkish Agricultural Insurance Association (TARSİM), said this in an interview with Report.

S. Gunal noted that subsidized loans are provided to the agricultural sector in Turkey: "Agricultural insurance is required to obtain these loans. Compulsory agricultural insurance, in fact, is a pledge of a loan."

In order to introduce the agricultural insurance system in Azerbaijan, the Agricultural Insurance Fund was established in 2019. In February 2020, a Declaration of Intent was signed between the Azerbaijan Agricultural Insurance Fund and TARSIM, which provides for mutual cooperation between the two countries in the field of agricultural insurance. Since November of the same year, Azerbaijan began to introduce a mechanism of agricultural insurance with state support based on the world-famous TARSİM model of Turkey.
