The results of the "Baku Harmoniya Climate Initiative for Farmers," announced at COP29 in Baku, will be presented at COP30 in Brazil in 2025, according to Leyla Jabbarli, Deputy Chair of the Agro Credit and Development Agency under Azerbaijan’s Agriculture Ministry, Report informs.
Speaking at the event themed “High-Level Strategic Prioritization” within the UN-Azerbaijan Cooperation Framework Document on Sustainable Development (2026-2030), Jabbarli highlighted that the launch of the "Baku Harmoniya Climate Initiative for Farmers" was officially announced at COP29, aiming to enhance opportunities for boosting farmers' resilience to climate change.
"This is a very successful initiative. We are currently working on all necessary measures to achieve its objectives," she stated.
Jabbarli also noted that the Ministry of Agriculture has implemented several successful projects in collaboration with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
"Within this framework, we have jointly carried out various projects with FAO's Türkiye Office, including a highly successful initiative supported by Türkiye's Ministry of Forestry aimed at reducing food loss and waste," she stated.
