In January 2022, Azerbaijan imported 409,870 tons of lentils worth $506,000 from abroad, according to the Report's calculations based on the data of the State Statistics Committee, compared to the same period last year, imports decreased by 0.2% in value terms, and by 35.8% in quantitative terms.
During the reporting period, 272 tons of products were purchased from Kazakhstan to the tune of $334,320 dollars, from Kyrgyzstan – 67,500 tons in the amount of $85,720 dollars, from Canada - 44 tons in the amount of $52,880 dollars, from Russia - 21.9 tons in the amount of $26,350 dollars, from Turkey - 4.47 tons in the amount of $6,730 dollars.
Compared with the first month of 2021, supplies from Kazakhstan increased by 6.5 times and 4.3 times, respectively, from Kyrgyzstan - by 78.1% and 86.1%, from Russia - by 56.4% and 75%, from Turkey - by 40.8% and 6.9%. Last January, no lentils were bought from Canada.
