In 2021, the CIS countries increased supplies of fruit and vegetable products to Russia, Report informs referring to the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) and the information system ‘Argus-Fito.’

As of August 10, supplies increased, primarily from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan. Azerbaijan supplied 338,200 tons of fruits and vegetables, which is 4.6 percent more in annual comparison (323,300 tons), Turkmenistan’s exports grew 93 percent, from 16,900 tons to 32,700 tons and Tajikistan’s supplies increased 38 percent - from 4,800 tons to 6,700 tons.

Turkmenistan has significantly increased the supply of tomatoes - from 16,400 tons to 31,900 tons and carrots - from 40 to 302 tons.

Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to take measures to increase the supply of agricultural products from the CIS countries to stabilize food prices.
