Azerbaijan sees over 30% rise in expenses on wheat imports

From January through November 2021, Azerbaijan imported nearly 1,017,000 tons of wheat worth $287,557,000, respectively, down 208,082 tons (16.9%) and up $25.060 million (9.5%) from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
In January-November 2020, Azerbaijan imported 1,225,000 tons of wheat worth $262.497 million. Thus, the import price of wheat was $214 a ton last year. In the reporting period of 2021, Azerbaijan spent $282 a ton. In other words, the expenses on wheat import were 31.7% higher than the previous year.
