Azerbaijan’s orange imports rise in volume and value

Azerbaijan imported 15,809 tons of oranges, valued at $11.14 million during the first four months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.
Compared to the same period of 2023, this is an increase of 40 percent both in terms of volume and value.
In the specified period, Azerbaijan bought 13,419 tons (+58%) of oranges from Iran worth $9.4 million (+58%), 1,538 tons (-37%) from Türkiye worth $1.1 million (-38%), 652 tons (+93%) from Egypt worth $521,430 (+94%), 199 tons from Cyprus worth $139,110 and 2.24 tons (-17%) from Spain worth $1,800 (-18%).
For the first time in 13 years, Azerbaijan imported oranges from Vietnam (0.01 tons worth $30) and Cyprus this year.
In total, 19,600 tons of oranges were imported to Azerbaijan from eight countries in 2023. Of this, 69.3% came from Iran, and 18.8% from Türkiye.
