Azerbaijan's ginned cotton exports to Türkiye soar in 1Q2024

Azerbaijan exported 37,493 tons of ginned cotton, valued at $56.5 million in the first three months of this year, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.

According to the committee, the export increased by 2.2 times in volume and 80 percent in value compared to the same period of 2023.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan delivered 30,000 tons (+92%) of ginned cotton to Türkiye worth $43.4 million (+53%), 4,410 tons to Turkmenistan worth $8.54 (no supply a year ago), 2,000 tons worth $3.15 million to Bangladesh (no supply a year ago) and 959 tons (-26 %) to Iran worth $1.34 million (-54 %) .

Meanwhile, in 2023, Azerbaijan exported a total of 69,400 tons of ginned cotton to four countries, of which 73.1 percent went to Türkiye.
